Rates and bookings

Our artist/curator rate is £599 per week. That's around half the average cost of hiring somewhere similar in zone 3, and 10-30% of zone 1 rates.

We only hire in blocks of one week, Tuesday 9am to Monday 5pm, to avoid 'orphan' days.

Hire blocks start on Tuesday, so you can be open on both Saturday and Sunday and de-install Monday.

There's no sales commission.

There's a light selection criteria, but Three Rooms is separate from our Panrucker curatorial project so we don't accept proposals or co-curating enquiries.

Occasionally we have time-limited offers and/or last minute availability (usually <three weeks) - subscribe to our newsletter to hear first.

Installing

Hanging system
To keep hire rates low we keep maintenance and turnaround to a minimum - our hanging system allows works to be hung from transparent cords from a rail at ceiling height, for quick install and de-install.

It can cope with most things including heavy works and wall-hung sculpture, and there are no issues with tipping.

There are around 60 cords - ask for our hanging system info sheet for detailed information.

Drilling
This isn't possible (even if you make good) because

- the plasterboard beneath isn't sound enough
- we don't allow DIY fixes to keep the quality of the finish high
- another artist will check in at 9am the following day, so there's no time to fix any disasters
- our AirBnB-style hire system only works if it's universal with no exceptions.

Command strips across the transparent cords keep them tight to the wall and are very discreet - the next best thing to a screw.

Sticky products
We encourage you to use the hanging system, but for artists who want or need to attach light work or texts directly to the walls, we offer the option of a £30 supplement to cover the increased wear and tear (unfortunately even 'non-marking' adhesive products leave a residue which shows up later as grease/dust marks, and finger marks).

The supplement covers these branded products only: 3M Command Strips™ / Yellow Frogtape™ / Bostik removable glu dots™ (green pack) - Blutack, whitetack, or any other adhesive products aren't allowed.

It's not possible to attach canvases or framed work this way - the products and wall finish aren't suitable.

Openings

There’s a fridge to cool drinks and a small table to put them on. You’ll need to provide glasses or paper cups for your guests.

We can provide a blank floorplan for your exhibition handout.

Openings must finish at 8pm, because our lovely neighbours experience one a week. If you think you'll need longer, just let your IG followers know where the after-party will be - there are loads of good places nearby.

What can I use the space for?

We’re open to almost anything which won’t cause damage or be really loud - so performances, artist talks, workshops are all possible, though please check with us before booking. We can’t accommodate children’s workshops unfortunately, and you'll need to provide tables and chairs if required.

The back garden isn't open to the public, but you can use the area between the space and the pavement.

You're welcome to use window vinyls and we can recommend a great installer.

Add @threerooms_e17 as a collaborator to your promotional posts - we’ll accept on Mondays (to avoid clashing with the current show). We'll add your PV post to our stories on the Monday before your opening.
